Background

In January 2019, Lethbridge Land kicked off the playground project. From March 21st to May 27th, a survey and forum were posted on www.GetInvolvedLethbridge.ca to gather community input on the project. The survey featured two main questions: what types of playground elements do your children most or least play with; and what things are most important to you. Residents were also asked “if you could build your dream playground, what would you include?” 34 survey responses were received and 19 forum posts all providing feedback to help shape the playground design.

Lethbridge Land worked with local engineering firm Stantec Consulting to create a preliminary design that included ideas and requests from the community. On May 29th, 2019, the preliminary design was unveiled at the Community Conversation, on social media and on the Crossings website. Again, Lethbridge Land asked for feedback on the design.

Based on the feedback received on the preliminary design, Lethbridge Land and Stantec Consulting made changes to the design and unveiled the final product at the Community Conversation on Oct 23rd. The feedback was fantastic and the only real question was “WHEN is this playground going to BE OPEN???!” Next fall, little ones. Next fall. :)

We want to keep the conversation going and would love to hear your feedback on the playground or answer any questions that you may have. Please don’t hesitate to contact us directly.
